CO2 Emissions Calculator

This is a simple tool to allow you to see how much CO2 your shipments have emitted

How does it work

To use the tool you just enter the weight of your shipment. You then type the name of port for example Hong Kong. The tool will then look for the Airport or Seaport dependent on the mode of transport and then calculator the distance before working out the CO2.

We don't know the exact route of a vessel or plane so we're using Google Map API to calculate the distance which is effectively "As the crow flies".

C02 Emissions Estimation

Did you know 1 tree under 10 years old only absorbs 7kgs of C02 a year.
After 7 years they can absorb 48kgs of C02 a year

Formulas and assumptions used for the calculation of C02 emissions are based on accredited sources such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the Clean Cargo Working Group or DEFRA; and served as a framework for the Global Transport Carbon Calculator (GTCC).

Distances are provided by Google Direction API. These may differ from shipping line routes.
